Marion Prepares For Harding Burial

Marion readies for the burial of Warren G. Harding with 1000 National Guardsmen on arrival and 2000 more expected to control crowds of about 100000. Washington State Funeral Rites Scheduled Eight Hours

The late president's state funeral will span eight hours starting with a 9 a.m. procession from the White House to the Capitol and including a 11 a.m. service led by Rev. J Freeman Anderson. The body lies in state at 11:30 beneath the Capitol dome, and the day ends with the procession to Union Station and the final departure of the Harding funeral train to Marion Ohio.

Athens Sends Wreath for Harding Funeral

Athens citizens prepared a magnolia wreath four and a half feet high and three and a half feet wide for President Harding’s funeral. Florist L W Connett arranged the piece with gladioli and lilies and white silk ribbons bearing Athens Grieves. The wreath was sent by train to Marion for Friday’s funeral.
