Dairies Raise Milk Price One Cent A Quart In Athens Area
Local processors announce a one cent per quart rise in milk prices in the Athens area effective today. The increase follows a five percent rise earlier this month by the Marietta Athens Milk Producers Association and Great Lakes Milk Marketing Federation. Prices for a quart of milk go from 30 to 31 cents, with gallon jugs up from $1.02 to $1.06. ice cream and cottage cheese classes remain unchanged. Kroger and IGA report varied delivery impacts. price changes may take days to reach all stores. The federation says the rise will continue for at least five months. Knights Templar to meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Athens Masonic Temple.
