Poor Fishing Amid Clear Lake Waters At Burr Oak
The lake shows unusually clear water with depths of 15 to 20 feet revealing the bottom. Most fish were caught early or after dark during the week, with bass by William Mingus and bluegill by John Levandoski noted. anglers hope for a hard rain to stir and cool the water. Lake Burr Oak’s camping area, beach, and picnic facilities remain popular. Engineer reports July rainfall at 5.01 inches and temperatures from 48 to 89 degrees, lake elevation 721.26.
