Two residents of Pomeroy, William Smith and Grover Arnold, were arrested for intoxication and released on bond by Patrolman Charles Werry. Ted Reed drove to Canton, Ohio with his mother Mrs. Theodore Reed Sr. Lions Club directors in Pomeroy plan a meeting at 7:15 pm Monday at the Ohio Power Co office.

Aid Squad Is Called For Doris Connally At Pilot Wheel
The Middleport Volunteer Fire Department responded to Doris Connally 30 who became ill at the Pilot Wheel below Cheshire on Sunday at 2 p.m. She was taken outdoors and then to Meigs General Hospital when no doctor could be found. Hospital staff later reported she was in a nervous state but resting comfortably. Martha Schwegman Roedel 93 died Sunday at her son Oscar Roedel's home in Pomeroy after months of illness. She leaves son Oscar and granddaughter Mrs. Robert Hamm. Funeral services are set for Tuesday at 2 30 p.m. at Trevey Finsterwald funeral home with burial in Beech Grove cemetery. Friends may call at the residence until noon Tuesday.

Middleport Driver Crashes Into Utility Pole
Clarence Lewis of Middleport drove to sleep near the Power Legion service station early Sunday and struck and broke a utility pole. He was taken to Meigs General Hospital in Pomeroy by Patrolman Russell Bailey, treated and released.
