Deborah Ann Evans of Gallia Academy High School was chosen Miss Gallia County Fair Queen at the opening night of the 16th Gallia County Junior Fair. First runner up was Twila Geiser, with runners up Molly Ellis Judith Ann Mitchem and Brenda Mullens from several local schools.

Assessor to Visit New Haven and Mason City for Tax Tasks
Mason County Assessor James Morris Bragg will greet residents at New Haven City Hall on August 12 from 8 30 a m to noon to help with assessment forms sell dog licenses and collect state capitation tax. He will move to the Mason City Building from 1 to 4 p m the same day to repeat the services including form help dog tag sales and capitation tax collection.

ASCS Votes To Determine Committees
Ballots received in the Gallia ASC County Office will be tabulated Aug. 11 to pick the 1965-66 ASC Community Committees and delegates for the county convention. J. Melvin Gilbert says the public county convention at the Gallia County Fair Grounds opens 10 a.m. DST on Aug. 18.

Gallia men fined and jailed for DUI in Municipal Court
Two men, Johnnie Gardner and Joseph Wills, were fined $50 plus costs, had six month driver’s rights revoked, and sentenced to five days in jail for driving while intoxicated in Municipal Court. Gardner is 23 from Pleasant Route 2 and Wills is 39 from Cheshire Route 2.
