Washington Aug 4 A nationwide hookup will broadcast Herbert Hoover acceptance of the Republican presidential nomination at Stanford University on August 11. The plan includes 84 NBC stations and CBS plus other affiliates to carry the speech domestically and through territories and foreign countries.
Rumors about the candidate withholding two issues were denied as official position papers emerge. He opposes socialistic farm policy and the McNary Haugen surplus tax, supports cooperative marketing aid, and backs prohibition. a 6000 word speech was prepared for release. Stanford presses produced copies for distribution to newspapers under embargo.

The action followed Daugherty criticism of the international line union’s Jacksonville wage scale policy.
In Nelsonville on August 4 a dynamite explosion destroyed Fred Loudner's frame garage and a 1920 Kissel sedan. No insurance was carried. Investigators report about 141 sticks used. officers recovered one fuse attached stick nearby.
