Over 500 youths enter Vinton County Junior Fair 1962
McARTHUR reports more than 500 Vinton County youths from 4-H FFA FHA Boy Scouts and other groups took part in the 1962 Junior Fair. Exhibits were judged with trophies and rosettes awarded for best goats sheep dairy and beef entries. A separate note mentions sea lions as superb swimmers and their fear of umbrellas.

Zaleski Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual Fish Fry on Saturday Aug. 11. The Vinton Hill Riding Club hosts a 1 p.m. horse show, followed by round and square dancing with music by Dave Starlin and his Buckeye Ramblers at 9 p.m.
