Robert F. Thompson, 64, was jailed in Zanesville on a murder charge after confessing to assaulting and strangling 10 year old Gertrude D Ostroph in a secluded spot Friday. He was captured in a Mt. Vernon hotel room after a wide search by patrols extending to Dayton and Zanesville. Thompson, a widower with five children, reportedly led authorities to the body Saturday.
Cleveland, Aug 2. Donald Robertson of East Cleveland, 13, saved a two year old from a car three years ago and on Sunday he saved a man from an oncoming freight train. He removed his shirt to flag the locomotive as it approached.
Elyria state news item reports Joe Bevier of Willard held for grand jury under $5,000 bond for the killing of 52 year old George Buehring in a collision when Bevier fell asleep at the wheel. Buehring, coal wagon driver, died from a fractured skull after being struck by Bevier’s automobile Saturday.
