Jury Awards $16,000 In Urban Renewal Case
A five woman seven man jury awarded Edward Van Dyke of Athens $16,000 in settlement of an Urban Renewal dispute in Common Pleas Court Wednesday. The case stemmed from differing appraisals by E. M. Conant Realtors at $19,500 and Don Kelly at $14,000 for the Van Dyke estate, a two story eight room home on Race Street in Athens. The suit involved properties to be acquired by the Urban Renewal department for eventual university sale. The jury deliberated about three hours and was led by forelady Goldie Edwards.
