Group Opposes State Lottery Campaign in Meigs County
Pomeroy Ministers lead a campaign against the proposed Ohio state lottery on the May 8 primary ballot. The panel argues the lottery is a disguised tax, with 55 cents spent to collect each dollar and 45 cents kept by the state. They warn voters would sign a blank check and contend lotteries fuel crime, fraud, and gambling risk with one in a million odds.
