In Nelsonville the first of six weekly training classes for women interested in Girl Scout work began Wednesday at 6 30 PM at the Christian Church under Miss Helen Shaw. Mrs Thor Olson will assist next week. Eighteen enrolled, with attendance from Deanville, and sessions continue for five more Wednesdays sponsored by Hyperion and Business and Professional clubs.
Mr. and Mrs. James Mohney hosted a chicken dinner in Buchtel honoring Wilson Swyers on his 84th birthday. Five generations attended, including Swyers's daughter, grandchildren, and relatives from Buchtel Nelsonville Jobs Murray City Salem and Denver with photos shared afterward.
Mrs Mary E Bartlett left Nelsonville today for Tulsa Oklahoma to attend a General Federation of Women's Clubs meeting and remain for Supreme Shrine sessions next week. The Brooks Shoes team meets the Nelsonville Greys to start the Twilight League season on Monday May 10 in Nelsonville. The six team league includes Brooks Shoes Nelsonville Greys Dr Walkers Old Timers Carbondale Hocking Valley Giants and Camp Nelson.

Doanville to host an evening of entertainment Friday starting at 7 30. Proceeds go toward the building fund and attendance is urged. Local talent and friends from nearby communities will perform.
