Five County Schools to be Abandoned in Hocking County
In Hocking County fifteen one room and small district schools will close at the end of the school year and pupils reassigned to nearby schools. The plan, discussed with state education officials in Columbus, targets schools with low average attendance from three to 11 pupils. Transfers spread across multiple townships to consolidate districts. The moves accompany a search for new sites and alignments within each district. Meanwhile local athletes prepare for possible Ohio Relays participation.
