Mrs. Chas Breinecke of Stoughton Wisconsin recounts a grave cold that settled on her lungs after exposure to a heated room. She used Peruna after other remedies failed and reports a full cure of her illnesses following continued use.
Appleton Wisconsin resident Josie Schaetzel says Peruna cured her severe cold and lung catarrh in four weeks after other remedies failed. Margret Fahey of Troy New York reports six months of Peruna cured her lung catarrh, improved appetite and weight. The ad claims Peruna removes catarrh causes with no bad effects.
Miss Ella M. Miller, a Washington society girl, writes from 1 F Street NE Washington DC praising Peruna for catarrh after taking several bottles, claiming she is entirely cured and cannot praise the medicine enough.
The rapid growth of the Peruna Medicine Company matches the medicine’s popularity. The plant spans acres and employs hundreds. Dr. Hartman turned Peruna into a proprietary medicine after many friends pressed for the original prescription. He estimates prescribing Peruna to over forty thousand patients before its advertising as a product.
The text argues Peruna remains popular as a home remedy resisting decline after initial use. It claims catarrh is widespread and hard to cure, that doctors avoid treatment, and that a moderate cost home remedy will inevitably become popular.
The piece warns that many catarrh treatments rely on local applications while few are internal. It notes doctors have prescribed narcotics such as cocaine opium whisky and similar substances. While providing temporary relief patients often relapse and develop narcotic habits.
The advertisement asserts Peruna contains no narcotic and can be used indefinitely without forming a drug habit. It emphasizes safety and suitability for long term use in many homes.

A small automobile hand car, light enough for two men, passed through town on the railroad. Mrs A Aldritch left husband by taking a Northbound Toledo and Ohio Central train from Paris. no reason given. Hiram Six and ten men left for Arkansas to help open a new mine.
An anecdotal testimonial from G Grayson of Lula Mississippi states that Dr King’s New Life Pills relieved frightful suffering from undigested food. The note claims the pills cure stomach and bowel disorders with tonic laxative properties and were sold at McKee’s drug store for two cents.
A historical classified note announces J. H. Duffee of Albany offering a car load of buggies surreys and driving wagons for exchange. Duffee promises low prices and readiness to trade for second hand vehicles, highlighting ongoing sale activity.
