Federal officers arrest Williams suspected of delivering liquor. He was reportedly seen with a five gallon container of "Special" in hand. Authorities say the incident centers on illegal liquor transfer. Williams faces preliminary charges as the investigation continues.
Federal officers arrested Emmanuel Ted Williams of New Straitsville in Redtown last night while delivering liquor to an unnamed recipient. John Fletcher, driver of the car, was arraigned and fined 200 plus costs for transporting liquor. Williams resisted arrest and was subdued after a struggle. a five gallon container of New Straitsville Special liquor was seized.
Dorothy Mackaye actress and Dr. Walter Sullivan are under technical arrest on indictments of two felony counts for concealing a crime and complicity in the death of Ray Raymond musical comedy star. Bond set at 5000 dollars each. Mackaye posted bail, Sullivan to arrange bond.
Burglars smashed a large plate glass window at Frank Pokorny’s store in Cleveland and stole jewelry diamonds and watches valued at more than $2000. Police continued investigation this morning.
