A 15 man raid on the fur district sparked a violent clash with the Communist Needle Trade Workers Industrial Union. One man killed and ten wounded as shots and bludgeons struck in the meeting rooms and hallway outside. Police feared three of the injured were gravely hurt.
In Cleveland on April 24 a woman about 26 was found dead in a field between Bulkley Boulevard and Crescent Avenue near the American Shipbuilding Company. A note envelope with the name Nellie Zakvich and a Cleveland address lay beside the body. Police, alerted by night watchman Ernest Beth, said the scene showed evidence of a struggle.

A brief service was held at the residence 23 Hanlin Avenue. The child a first grade pupil at Wes Side School leaves his parents Mr and Mrs Phillip Rhoades six sisters and four brothers.
