Ohio voters head to polls to choose delegates for national conventions as Hoover and Willis forces clash in one of the state’s most contested primaries. Daugherty plans appeal of his ejection while observers predict a record turnout and close result.
In Columbus Ohio voters cast ballots to shape the Republican national convention delegation with Herbert Hoover facing the late Senator Frank B Willis faction. The contest pits Hoover supporters seeking delegation control against Willis backers promoting fundamental Republicanism amid bitter primary battles and regional contrasts.
Only one of three planes arrived at 10 o'clock as rain caused a delay. Reg Ahearn and Nils Mark landed in Chillicothe with two other planes due from Winchester Kentucky. Ahearn said the field was usable and expected to push to Logan and Nelsonville if rain ceased.
