Emergency Road Repair Program Announced for Meigs County
The State Highway Department begins five emergency relief projects in Meigs and nearby areas to remedy landslide damage on Route 7 and adjacent roads. Contracts will be awarded soon, with 15 000 to 20 000 cubic yards of earth to be moved at Cook's Gap and additional work at several locations near Hobson and Rutland. The initiatives are funded by a federal emergency program with a $10 million annual pool. Ohio's share this year is about $2 million.
