Easter day brought sunny skies and festive services across Athens churches. Congregations filled Presbyterian Methodist Catholic and Christian denominations with music sermons and choir performances celebrating the Resurrection.
The council meeting installed new officers including Mr Hern as water works trustee and Mr Van Vorhes as selectman. It approved a bond of 310,000 with sureties, reorganized committees for street lighting sewers and water works, and authorized an architect to develop plans for remodeling the city hall stage and tower.
