Blanche Thebom, a former Canton stenographer now with the Metropolitan Opera, performs Carmen at Public Hall in Cleveland for the first time in her career. The Hartley infant born December 12 at Petersburg, Indiana, with two heads and four arms died at Daviess County Hospital after a pneumonia attack. The four-month-old child, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Hartley, had two heads two shoulders two lungs two hearts and two stomachs. The weaker head died first followed by the stronger 15 minutes later.
Army Pvt. Robert BE. Parks Jr. 24, charged with first degree murder in the slaying of an infant daughter, was in fair condition in a hospital after attempting suicide in jail. Sheriff James Meagley said Parks broke his glasses lens and used glass to cut his left arm.
