Tuberculosis Association election highlights Athens County group
Nelsonville Athens County Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease Association re elected four officers and added two board members at its annual meeting. Officers include Dr E Dale Mattmiller president Athens Mrs Lowell Burnelle vice president Glouster Mrs Bernadine Allen secretary and Lawrence G Worstell Jr treasurer Athens. Don Campbell reported the group’s finances and thanked contributors while Andrew J Chonko of Ohio University spoke on smoking clinic progress and methods.

Wellston council approved sub leasing water and sewer extensions to Banquet Foods for the Ralston Purina plant on Route 327 clearing the way for the transfer. Banquet employs about 100 with plans to expand equipment. council also denied a zoning variance for a motorcycle shop and reviewed grade crossing funding and a police cruiser bid.
