Aftermath of Flood Reported Receding Waters
Flood waters receded more than five feet by Saturday morning with the Hocking River at 11.87 feet, 5.13 feet below flood stage, as city workers removed mud from streets and pumped basements. Landslides closed some roads, bridges were damaged but not washed out, and well water safety was urged with boiling advised. New York Central trains to Charleston resumed, while others returned to normal operations.
