Bulldozer Breaks Through Floor at Covington Bank
Covington Trust & Banking Co directors are glad they built a basement in a new drive in branch after thieves used a stolen 10 ton bulldozer to break in Tuesday morning. The machine fell into the basement, the safe remained untouched, and the suspects fled in a flatbed truck later found abandoned. Manager Robert Dickey estimates over 40 thousand dollars in damage and the branch expects to reopen in about a week.
