Sprague and Wife Meet Pope Pius XII During Italy Tour
Robert J. Sprague and his wife Carmela Frell visited Italy on a Geneva law study trip. An audience with Pope Pius XII in the Vatican was arranged by a cousin, and the Pope spoke with them in English. They toured Rome Florence and Venice, and planned to return to the United States in August to enter a U.S. law school.

Girl Scout Swimming Schedule Announced for Summer
The Girl Scout summer swimming program runs June 21 to July 31 with Mrs. Earl Davis as program chair. Director is Mrs. R J Windisch, classes on Mondays at 1 pm and Saturdays at 10 am, with numerous assistants and lifeguards present at all times.

Junior CCL Inducts Two Members at Athens Meeting
Mrs. James McMullen hosted the Junior CCL gathering Thursday evening. New members Mrs. Parker Walker and Mrs. Howard Goodwin were inducted and two new groups, the Federation Circle and the Child Guidance Circle, were announced. Members voted to send clothing to a French woman. Plans were set for spring CCL conference attendance in Lexington. Refreshments were served by the hostess with help from Mrs. Evan Williams. Next meeting will be an entertainment for husbands at Mrs. D. M. Downard’s Franklin Ave home.
