Los Angeles evangelist Rev. James Cramer known as Big Jim conducted a revival at First Baptist Church in Ta00?sACT WE THRU HIGHLAND SECTIONS NOW. The sermon riding Blind Baggage netted 25 converts as deacons passed a plate for quarters and dollars with the preacher blessing each contribution.
Dublin dispatch reports Eamonn de Valera head of the Irish republican movement captured by Free State troops at Roundwood Wicklow about 25 miles from Dublin. The claim, unconfirmed by Free State headquarters, follows previous reports of capture within a week and comes as forces hunt the fugitive after the Four Courts battle and ongoing guerrilla activity.
Despite heavy rain Albany held a tree planting ceremony in the High School in memory of war heroes. The Senior Class donated a day to the schools, with poetry by Maud Skidmore, songs, and Major Johnson praising the returned soldiers. Relatives attended as seven trees were named for fallen and honored servicemen.
Clara Phillips the hammer murderess fled California prison, traveled from Mexico City with Jesse Carsen, registered at the Hotel St Francis as Mr. and Mrs. Carsen. Authorities believe they aim for Honduras via Guatemala, seeking possible extradition gaps as they move toward San Salvador.

Wilson A. Miller, a civil war veteran, found a powder chest he believed empty and threw the contents into a stove. The powder exploded, burning his left arm and the side of his face.
Marie Gossett,8, of Bannock, returning to her uncle's home in a car with her parents, ran onto a National Road and was struck by a passing vehicle near Morristown. Doctors report a skull fracture and she was taken to a hospital for treatment.
In Columbus on April 16 the Ohio state branch of the National Chiropractors' Association endorsed the stand of chiropractors who refused fines and pursued convictions for practicing without passing the state Board exam. The meeting elected O. L. Hewn of Akron as president along with officers Ben L. Wes of Mansfield and Wiliam B. Kinsinger of Wadsworth, and C. E. Schillig of Willard as secretary. New trustees include B. Franklin Lear of Warren, George Bellinger of Akron, and Ben L. Miles of Westerville.
Tokio April 16 advices report a terrifying windstorm along southern Korea causing heavy losses. Officials list 900 missing and 61 bodies recovered so far. Shipping suffered major damage with 21 motorboats 107 fishing boats and two sailboats lost. Monetary toll about 1 million dollars.
H P Dowler of Canaanville and family escaped major harm when a truck they rode in plunged into a roadside ditch after avoiding a head on collision with an unlit oncoming vehicle about 9 pm Sunday. Mrs Dowler suffered a left wrist fracture. Lucille Dowler was scalded. The other vehicle fled.
Charles Brooks of Rendville was sentenced to die for first degree murder by Perry County court. In Kalamazoo Michigan on April 16 Rev Father Charles Dillon pled guilty to killing his superior Rev Father Henry ONeill at St Augustine's Catholic church and was sentenced to life with solitary confinement. Dillon denied insanity.
Louis Campbell a 37 year old structural steel worker died in a local hospital from injuries after being caught between two swinging girders in Steubenville. The accident occurred yesterday and prompted investigations by local authorities.
Six men raided the Hammond Distillery Co. at dawn and killed watchman Robert J. Anderson. The assailants escaped with part of about 2 500 barrels of whiskey, aided by a relief watchman who was overpowered and provided a partial suspect description. A truck used by the robbers was noted in the raid.

In New Kensington Pennsylvania a state police raid nabbed a crowd at a cockfight in a building near town. The steamer Anahuac ran aground two and a half miles off Biddeford Pool during a snowstorm while bound west from Portland with a crew of one man. Coast Guard rescued the crew at Fletcher's Neck. The vessel was on the United States Shipping Board roster.
