Logan Polio Shot Schedule Sets Vaccination Pace
Logan Hocking County Health Department has set a polio vaccine schedule for first and second graders in city, parochial, and county schools with vaccines expected by early next week. The plan, advised by Dr. Jonas Salk, shifts timing to two doses about four weeks apart and a booster six to seven months later, aims to finish pre term immunizations and complete after the next school year. Vaccinations begin April 19 with a detailed elementary by-school timetable, free immunizations funded by the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis, and parental permission rising from 67 percent to potentially higher as confidence grows.
