Bobcats top Wisconsin 7 1 in snowbound opener
Ohio University varsity rallied in biting cold to beat Wisconsin 7 to 1 in the home opener. Bobby Perman, a Shelby sophomore making his first college start, limited the Badgers to six hits while Jim Shreffler and Mickey Briglia paced OU with timely hits and stout defense. Wisconsin failed to score after the second inning as Perman worked out of jams with a sharp curve, and the Bobcats maintained momentum ahead of a Western Michigan series.
