Ohio coal market urged to guarantee purchase for highways
Speaker Mr. Walker warned that 2,500 of 3,100 Ohio retailers sell out of state coal, harming the state product and its guaranteed tar market. He cited 36 million gallons of tar used locally and 93 billion tons of unmined coal in Ohio, urging retention of the Ohio market. Mayor Wallace introduced Walker as the Ohio Coal Foundation's work was outlined, with Union official Herman Theisen noting coal supplies to state institutions and hospitals, including a Dayton hospital order previously buying in Kentucky.
