Herbert B. Eagon of the Department of Natural Resources says a new lake is the feasible solution to Lake Hope's fish kill due to periodic sulphuric acid mine wastes. Locations in Vinton County are studied, with a site southeast of Zaleski in Madison Township under evaluation. Five of six district schools are one room with one teacher. one school uses three rooms with two teachers. The board also revoke June 30 1960 the first grade charters of Rio Grande High School and several Perry County high schools, with 30 days for hearings.

In Pulaski Virginia a 19 year old husband Jack Jennings barricaded in a brick bungalow for 17 hours fired at police and press men. He threatened harm to his 10 year old sister in law and held her hostage. Jennings took Barbara Butts hostage and used a note attached to an arrow demanding a conference. He was taken to jail after a court hearing on unauthorized car use.
Nathaniel Rogg, chief economist for the National Association of Home Builders, says 1960 will see a decline in home building due mainly to higher interest rates.
Demonstrations in two South Korean cities escalated with a violent clash but no reported casualties. Police and demonstrators faced off as protests against Syngman Rhee's government persisted today.
Beverly Radland 17, girlfriend of actor Errol Flynn, underwent a lie detector test as detectives deepen their probe into the death of William Stanciu. She recounted that Stanciu menaced her with a revolver at her Hollywood apartment, forced her into Russian roulette, raped her, and then shot himself. Stanciu died Sunday at General Hospital on his 21st birthday after being booked on suspicion of rape.
During the 10th week of sit-down demonstrations in Nashville a fight broke out amid renewed protests against segregation. A shovel was brandished and knives drawn before police and merchants made two arrests. In Mississippi a first Negro boycott of white merchants was reported at Jackson as officials claimed it fizzled, with an NAACP spokesman calling the effort about 70 percent effective.
An insurgent group led by Manuel Beaton near the Sierra Maestra is reported encircled by troops and militiamen in Oriente province. Officials deny knowledge of Beaton, while a semi official paper calls the group bandits. Beaton escaped from La Cabana fortress after alleged killings, which he denies.
