Columbus Firm Still Seeks Sewer Pipe Bill Payment
At a special Pomeroy Village Council meeting Universal Concrete Pipe Co of Columbus pressed for 4067.29 unpaid balance on sewer pipe used in a storm sewer project begun 1948 and finished last year. The council said 58438.30 had been paid plus 3699.70 in extras, and a state examiner is auditing the books. Mayor Canaday and others noted cement and steel shortages forced Columbus plant production. The mayor preferred awaiting the examiner and suggested settlement for half the claim. payment required a new appropriation beyond the already approved 58438.30.
