Proper inoculation urged for spring soybean plantings
Athens County farmers were urged by Irvin A. Wolfe to inoculate soybean seed this spring, especially on new land. He said inoculation is cheap and pays dividends in yield and soil fertility, noting nitrogen fixing bacteria must be introduced from outside sources. Commercial inoculants are convenient, though inoculated soil also works.
