Miss Cherryblossom Delight Delights Nelsonville Audience
The first performance of Miss Cherryblossom at the Senior High School auditorium drew strong applause and praise for director Velma Young and Carson L Horton. Lead actress Margaret Newman won audience favor with a rare voice, supported by Willard Hall and a capable cast, including Jessica and Harry, Kokomo, and Togo. The high school orchestra and chorus, plus notable stage and piano work, framed an engaging operetta. A subsequent performance is slated for tonight at the same venue. The council adjourned session featured a discussion on a $52,900 ordinance with Rider voting no and Keplar absent, with a special meeting Monday to consider adoption.
