Mount Vernon Deputy Sheriff Harold George announced four Kenyon College students were arrested after a fraternity house party Saturday night. Two students face charges of threatening an officer and two face contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Witnesses say four Mount Vernon girls, all underage, attended the party. A crowd of about 75 gathered when warrants were served, and the arrests were made with difficulty.
Chicago police jailed one suspect as they hunted for four year old Richard Max Perrot missing since last Tuesday. Joseph B. Bothe, 45, of Chicago and former Elgin State Hospital inmate, was arrested and questioned, but witnesses could not identify him and he denied seeing the boy.

William Koon age 61 of The Plains was fatally injured Tuesday morning at the Hocking Mine when iron band and soap stone fell on him. He lived a half hour after the accident. Washington reports say neighbors joined a hunt for Robert Green of Ardmore Maryland after officers learned he beat his three year old daughter Norma Jean Green into unconsciousness for not spelling Patty. The child, hospitalized with welts bruises and a slinged arm, is listed in critical condition. The mother said Green whipped the girl with a heavy belt Sunday night until she seemed to stop breathing and assaulted her again Monday before leaving the house.
