Absentee Voting To Start In Athens County Primary
Absentee balloting begins in Athens County on May 8 for voters unable to visit the polls. Advance voting runs Thursday May 3 and Saturdays May 21 and 28, with no advance registration. The county board expects a heavy May primary turnout and has stocked ballots for candidates for state district and county offices among about 42 aspirants.

Richland Ave Resident Dies at 72 in Albany Area
Ars George Munn, 72, of 438 Richland Ave died Friday afternoon after months of illness. She was daughter of Isaac and Lydia Root and survived by husband, a daughter Sarah Deardarff of Athens, three sons Jerry Wayne and Lyle of Athens and Albany, four grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers. She belonged to Richland Ave Methodist Church, funeral Monday at 2 pm with Rev H L McDaniel. Friends may call at Jagers and Sons Funeral Home.
