Strike Halts Work At Ohio River Ordnance Works

A strike at the Ohio River Ordnance Works and a power failure at the municipal plant cut 1250 workers from their jobs Wednesday. Mason County Man Slashed At Night Club

A Mason resident suffered deep cuts to his face and neck at a Meigs County night club. The 27 year old, father of three, could not identify the attacker and asked the sheriff not to press charges if he knew. He was listed in satisfactory condition at Meigs General Hospital. He said he came to the club with the Goodnite brothers, Hartford, and was attacked in the yard as he moved between parked cars when the assailant drew a knife and slashed him.

Layoff Reported at Hocking Valley Lost Run Mine No 3

About 50 to 60 men were laid off at the Hocking Valley Mining Co Lost Run Mine No 3 yesterday due to lack of orders.
