Pan American Day is celebrated across the Americas with focus on Latin American neighbors. Suggested menu includes Eggs a la Caracas finished with cheese and salami on toast, and Cinnamon Mocha Ice Cream with instant coffee and cinnamon. Tea time features small sandwiches and sponge cake fingers.
The Plains Methodist Church women announce a rummage sale for April 21 and 22 with location to be announced later. Volunteers may contribute items by calling Mrs. Charles Tinkham at SY7 3135. proceeds benefit the hospital guild.
The Athens County Association of Garden Clubs will gather Wednesday April 12 at the Nelsonville Methodist Church. E A Dean of the State Department of Natural Resources will present a talk on conservation and show a movie titled Your Ohio Heritage. Luncheon reservations to Mrs Raymond Lee by April 10.
The Athens Duplicate Bridge Club has shifted meetings from Tuesday to the first, third and fifth Fridays each month. Gatherings occur in rooms above the Southern and Ohio Electric Co. and remain open to the public.
