In Dayton area 1924 reports place Gerald Chapman the so called super bandit near farmer John Farrell’s cottage between October 9 and 16. Farrell identifies Chapman from memorandum books and letters found, while F B Dudding argues another man Morgan Pierce killed the officer Chapman is accused of slaying.
