Grosvenor Wins Postmaster Pay Increase Amid Defeat
Gen Grosvenor, despite a recent renomination defeat, secured unanimous consent to revisit the House postmaster salary. Captain McElroy of Meigs County, a Grosvenor ally, saw a $500 raise, while the Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper received $500 and $1,000 bonuses respectively after pressure from the Ohio Republican. Hardwick initially blocked the move, but Grosvenor persisted and the amendment passed without opposition.
