Alden's concessions fail to pacify students at Ohio U
Ohio University students, led by Student Congress president Rob Christie, demand accountability over proposed 30 dollar in state and 60 dollar out of state quarterly fees and 1.8 million annual student services funding. Alden agrees to a Priorities Task Force and budget details but rejects student control of fees and consents. Calls for teach-in and potential strikes loom if five measures are not acted on.

One Man One Vote Likely Won’t Change Athens County
The Supreme Court ruling on one man, one vote is expected to have little impact in Athens County. Athens Mayor Raymond Shepard notes ward redraws focused on population. wards now within about 100 votes. County elections director E B Young says most offices are already one person one vote, with commissioners potentially seen as districted. School boards, elected at large, would see minimal effect.
