The county mourns ex Commissioner Frederick Finsterwald aged about 70 who died at his home near Guysville on Thursday night. A Fairfield County native, he served two terms on the Board of County Commissioners and helped found the Childrens Home where he served as a trustee. His funeral was held at the Presbyterian Church near Guysville with large local attendance and floral tributes. He is laid to rest in Carthage township cemetery where other family members were interred.
The Howell & Co company stages a first class musical comedy in Ath ens Monday night with twenty in the cast and a brass band orchestra directed by Prof Ed F Belding. A noon parade and 7 15 pm free concert precede the show. Seats are on sale at Sloane's.

City hall overflowed Sunday as Athens Commandery Knights Templar hosted Easter services. Rev Dr David H Moore preached a powerful sermon defending the gospel resurrection, despite a cold voice, before a packed crowd including guests from Nelsonville and Zaleski.
