Second Chance Dogs spotlight on ASPCA rehab program
Animal Planet will air an hour long special on the Behavior Rehabilitation Center at St. Hubert's in Madison New Jersey. The ASPCA launched the pilot in 2013 to rehabilitate traumatized dogs with 259 dogs sent there since opening. 155 graduated and 170 were adopted. The center aims to expand to a new 9 million dollar 35000 square foot facility in Weaverville North Carolina by mid 2017. The project also trains shelter staff nationwide to handle severely traumatized dogs while providing living quarters for visiting staff and dogs from shelters.
