Recovery Signals Gains in March Business Activity

The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland reports gradual improvement across industry and finance. Credit is easier and building activity in early March reached the best level in over a year, with contracts up sharply from February and March 1929. Coal and cement production fell amid warm weather, and shoe factories in the south were down about 20 percent from last year.
