Douglas Arizona October 29 Carlos Randall Villa governor of Sonora issued a proclamation that since the United States recognizes Carranza Villa authorities are not responsible for American lives.

Baltimore October 29. John Prentiss Poe Jr a famous Princeton football star of the nineties was killed September 22 while serving with the British army in France. He had previously gained fame as a captain in the Honduran army after driving a Nicaraguan gunboat from Amalpa harbor. He was forty years old.

Mellen testified in a trial of eleven former New York New Haven and Hartford directors that he was unaware of John M Hall political activities to influence legislation in favor of the New Haven. He said Hall letters were unknown to other directors, though the government presented letters detailing political plans to destroy competing steamship lines.
The resignation of Hau Sharp Chang, premier of China, was announced by telegram from Peking. No reason given, but presumed to oppose moves toward monarchy.
