Last evening the Killarney Girls and Miss Rita Rich opened a five attraction season at the Y W C A under Redpath bureau. A large attentive crowd enjoyed folk dance child songs and varied numbers with spirited encores. Peanut Parcher Explodes Wounding Two Men on Broad Street
A peanut parching machine exploded yesterday around three on Broad Street near Thomas Street. Oper ator Rufus Hinesley was flung across the street and cut by flying glass and steam. Co owner Harold Tuck was struck by glass, suffering a deep temple wound near the eye. The machine, a total wreck, sent debris and broken panes across several blocks. The blast was caused by a hot steam vessel from low water with cold water introduced, not the gas supply.
