Clarke County Pig and Corn Clubs Triumph at State Fair Show

Clarke county pig and corn club boys showcased 22 pigs and seven 10 ear corn exhibits at the state college of agriculture, with total prizes of 250 dollars. County Agent Jones Purcell praised the students for applying instruction from the county agent and state college, hoping to bring home top prizes at the Southeastern fair in Atlanta and the Georgia State fair in Macon.

Captain Fred Hill Reaches Home for Funeral in Toccoa

The body of Captain Fred Hill, formerly in charge of the army recruiting station here, who died in France on duty with the AEF in February 1919, arrived in Toccoa yesterday. Fire at Hancock and Pope Street Springfield

Fire department arrived at about 1 30 in the morning to combat a blaze at a negro owned warehouse near Hancock and Pope streets. The flames damaged stock and threatened nearby dwellings and a worming of local property. No injuries reported and firefighters kept the fire from spreading to adjacent structures.
