The jury organized immediately and will handle criminal and civil matters arising.
Mr. Sharpton found a large quantity of broken glass across the road between Athens and Bogart. He recalls prior damage from beer bottles set on the road and offers five dollars for arrests. The county commissioners and grand jury will investigate the incidents.

Special report from The Banner notes Maxwell Mercury driven by W F Cook and F E Warner completed a 180 mile leg with a perfect score amid heavy car competition. A press Pierce Arrow carrying the tour president wrecked after hitting a telegraph pole. no ladies were in the car and all men escaped injury. The Banner party remains in good health and prepared for a 90 mile run to Roanoke Tuesday.
Governor Brown and Clarke county officials faced Judge Brand’s grand jury charge. The judge interrupted by lawyers seeking explanations and named local officials from Walton Monroe and others. The talk covered salary for the city court solicitor, compensation for the superior court solicitor general, and enforcement of the pagrant law.
A letter from D G Bickers of Athens filed to Judge C H Brand demands public clarification of a remark tying newspaper men to lying after the Walton county lynching. The writer requests specification of any lies attributed and a clear count on the indictment, asserting newspaper honor and support for the law.
The regular weekly gathering of the Athens Evangelical Ministers Union convened yesterday afternoon at the First Presbyterian church with full attendance. The program was carried out and a pleasant social session followed the exercises.

The event uses the Tuck Building Clayton Street lower floor one door below Miller Furniture Store with prizes for finest boy or girl under one year and best child under three. Babies admitted free Friday afternoon with mothers or attendants paying ten cents admission. Entries due by 3 30 p m.
The Southern Poultry Association meets tonight at City Hall at eight o’clock. Regular monthly session expects full attendance. Reports from committees to discuss vital matters and action are planned. H D Marriott presents a new coop prototype for member inspection and possible large order. An engaging program follows the business session.
In a morning session of the superior court ripe divorce cases were pulled for verdicts including Burruss vs Burruss Yarbrough vs Yarbrough Pope vs Pope King vs King Osburn vs Osburn Nesbitt vs Nesbitt and Phillips vs Speerman Unusual Case features Etta Speerman suing under her maiden name claiming she was never his wife before marriage and thus not bound by the union.
Firemen responded to an 8 p m alarm at the Dougherty and Lumpkin corner for Mr McKenzie on Dougherty street but found no blaze on arrival. The call was a mistaken report from someone thinking a fire was underway at the McKenie residence and no damage occurred.
New York scored early but Philadelphia won 3 to 1 as Baker hit a decisive homer in the sixth and drove in Collins. Herzog and Collins added two base hits for New York while Oldring and Crandall contributed for Philadelphia. Plank struck out seven for Philadelphia, Marquard four for New York.
A gathering of local merchants and businessmen planned to organize a city credit association at City Hall but rain hindered attendance. The group rescheduled for Friday at 8:30 PM with many signers already on board, aiming to establish a permanent body to aid all retail trades.
The jurors drawn for this week to serve as trial jurors were named. Mr J L Morris, renowned musician, is now leader of the Classic City band and conducts regular rehearsals each week. The band members praise his capable leadership and look forward to performances under his guidance.
