Atlanta Oct 14 The license of Dr D E Hill of Winder was revoked by the state board of medical exa m in Athens the board met in the capitol Hill, granted a license in 1884, had been on probation for liquor abuse. Additional charges led to revocation. He was a frequent visitor in Athens last year and this year, treating pellagra patients. He has been arrested and detained for sobriety, last Tuesday afternoon. The South Carolina Senate committee yesterday morning refused to approve the Shirly bill prohibiting cotton grown out of state from being shipped into South Carolina for use in mills. Enforce Quiet During Worship At Local Churches
The city council, with the mayor presiding, held a called meeting last night. It authorized placing a light at Oakland and Milledge near the burgled area. Wages for street hands were trimmed to 1.00, later to be restored to 1.25 if enough hands remain. Plain clothes officers were authorized as special collectors for street tax and cases are being made against those who fail to pay. The council also directed police to abate Sunday noise by suspending heavy traffic near First Baptist, First Presbyterian, and First Methodist churches in the business district.
