Mr Henry May Long aged about 43 died at his Harris Street home. A Kentucky native and longtime International Harvester salesman, he spent much of the past seven years in Athens with his wife Louise McIntosh. Funeral from his residence at 5 pm with pallbearers named. He was a Baptist and remembered for honesty and courtesy.

Postponed Southern Poultry Association Meeting

Funeral for Mrs Ellison Deterle at Oconee Street Methodist
The funeral for Mrs Ellison Deterle was held Sunday at four o clock at Oconee Street Methodist Church, where she long served as a devoted member. Pallbearers carried the casket to the altar rail as the choir sang Nearer My God to Thee and I Would Not Live Always.
