Atlanta hosts a two day Southern Conservation congress with famed speakers including Gifford Pinchot and Dr A M Soule. Theodore Roosevelt arrives Saturday for a brief address and Uncle Remus Memorial lecture amid sessions at the auditorium armory and a night reception at Mayor Maddox's home.
Mr. David Tent and Miss Irene Huff united in marriage yesterday at the bride’s parents’ home on Narrow Street. Rev. Willie Saye officiated the ceremony amid warm wishes from many friends in the community.

Athens will be represented in Atlanta today and tomorrow by business and professional men attending the Southern Conservation and Southern Commercial Congress. Judge John J. Strickland Col T J Shackelford and Mayor Rowe head city groups with Mr C B Griffith and Dr I H Goss also present to hear speakers including Gifford Pinchot and Theodore Roosevelt. The mayor will attend the meetings today. Annie Phinizy Engaged to Edward Hammond Johnson of Norfolk Va announced in Atlanta Journal yesterday. The wedding is set for November 10 at First Presbyterian Athens with a reception at 324 Milledge. Arnold and Abney advertise Florida grape fruit.
Clarke county official returns show Governor race tally unswayed by minor corrections. E J Crawford and W E Jackson led county ticket by one vote each at 696, with Kenney’s district omission corrected. Various Clarke officers and state offices listed with vote counts, precincts, and amendments approved or rejected.
Yesterday afternoon at about five o clock Troy Harbin thirteen year old son of Mr and Mrs Harbin of Prince avenue swallowed five half grain tablets of strychnine and nearly died from the poison. He had been working at the Prince Avenue Pharmacy and had recently entered school. His teacher described him as cheerful and bright and his sister noted his good mood after dinner. His mother and sister were away shopping when the incident occurred and the father was at work as a city inspector.
After a lengthy session with brief intermission, the city court concluded its business yesterday. Judge West dismissed the jury for the term with recall possible. Several civil cases settled by default. many criminal actions resolved. Fines and penalties ranged from 25 to 200 dollars with terms up to 12 months.

Yesterday morning at about 11 o'clock in Bradberry's district Mr. Charles Jackson aged about thirty five died at his home. He leaves a young wife and several small children. Cause of death listed as inflammation. Funeral arrangements to be announced.
