Great Canal Proposed Aimed to Link Atlantic to Mississippi

Atlanta chamber of commerce votes to push a grand canal from the Atlantic through the Ohio and Mississippi rivers via the Coosa Etowah Ocmulgee and connects Rome Macon and Atlanta to open water freight across the southeast. Dr Koplowitz Leads Hebrew Service at University Chapel

Yesterday morning Dr Isidore Koplowitz professor of Hebrew at the University of Georgia led devotional services at the chapel. He was possibly the first Hebrew rabbi and faculty member to lead. Caleb Powers Faces New Charge in Goebel Case

The Franklin county grand jury indicted Caleb Powers and associates for conspiring to induce witnesses to falsely testify in the Scott circuit court that Henry Youtsey admitted firing the Goebel murder. Also named are Howard Denton Jennie Gentry alias Julian Sars and Dave Cushing. The panel alleges intent to influence Powers's upcoming trial by perjuring witnesses. Not All Get In Who Age Entrance

The University reports four hundred forty students enrolled after strict entrance tests and certificates from accredited schools. The university maintains a high curriculum and advises unprepared applicants to seek other schools until ready. In the past two weeks twenty applicants were redirected for insufficient training.
