More than seven thousand residents from Athens and nearby counties greeted the Seeing Georgia tour last night. About twelve hundred tour autos from the region were parked along multiple streets for the welcome event featuring decorations, the Georgia Pictures exhibit at the Colonial, a torch light procession, Woodmen of the World drill, and an open house at the Elks Home. Henry Hughes led advance greetings from Madison and arranged tickets to the Georgia Dahonega game and Elks open house as the tour continued toward Watkinsville and back to Athens.
